Establish A Color SchemeOne you can change later

Even the trend is to be bold and use color in a most creative way ; After while we feel bored by the color scheme we chose in the beginning.

A wonderful idea, if you are looking for a timeless home, is to add color into the space, by using it with the furniture and accessories.

We discussed about color and how it affects us in our post  Understanding Color.

You may ask ” What is timeless” ?

Timeless design doesn’t pull from trends – it is neither avant-garde, fussy, ornate nor opulent. In fact, timeless décor resists these trends. Timeless design is quietly understated, simple and sophisticated. This style is one that is designed to be highly functional, yet not bland and boring.

You can also opt for classic colors like black, navy blue and dark greens that are often complemented by the neutrals. Trend colors can come into play when used as accent and co-exist beautifully with traditional ones. It is important to be careful, however, so that the trendy color is not the one that sets the tone for the room.

Warm Up A Room With Mirrors

Mirrors are a magical piece of furniture, pretty much indispensable which can be be used to bounce the light back, create depth in a shallow room or just a decoration.

Small tip: Have a small room, add mirrors.

Mirrors panels on the walls surrounded by the hidden lights can create a very warm environment.

The dining room is one of the most popular spaces for dramatic mirrors, especially if there’s a beautiful chandelier to reflect.

Mix Metallics

Metallic finishes already add plenty of sparkle, but using a mix of gold with grey silver will make a bigger impact. The key is to use a lot of both; you can’t be shy with one or the other.

In 1980, when gold and brass were big interior metals and then the trend slowly faded away? Well, the trend is back in a more subtle way, being included in the furniture and ornamental cabinetry and decor.

If you want to add glam to your space, try adding golden metallic on a cold grey wall, for an eye-catching accent wall.

A cool thing about fireplaces is that they’re not strictly linked to a single wall so they can be seen and enjoyed from anywhere and this allows a more open and spacious lounge area to be established based on this point.

With today market invaded with so many chandeliers, pendants, wall lights, a studied lighting design is a must.

Rooms with one type of lighting, such as a single overhead pendant, can feel two-dimensional. “Lighting will elevate the mood of any room. Be sure to have light coming from multiple sources, not just overhead.

Find creative places for an extra floor lamp, sconce, or empty corner where a small table lamp could reside for added glow or why not floor light or hidden wall light.
